Hello, everyone. It is October and time for a new challenge.
I've been reading about the United States Air Force's elite combat search and rescue teams called Pararescuemen. Affectionately called PJ's (pararescue jumpers) these are the guys that special forces units call on when they need rescue. PJ hopefuls spend two arduous years in training learning combat skills and tactics of US special forces such as the Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, and Green Berets. They can fit into any of these operations. But what makes them unique is that they are also paramedics highly trained and experienced in treating combat wounds and trauma cases. Their main purpose is to rescue, treat, stabilize, and evacuate soldiers from combat zones and will do whatever it takes to saves lives, including sacrificing their own.
The words that every PJ lives by are this month's challenge: "That Others May Live".
We have until October 31st to post stories. Happy writing!
